How to Order
3 min read
Ordering with Nom404 is simple. Scan a QR code at any participating business, pick what you want, and pay from your phone. Here is how it works, step by step.
1. Open the Nom404 app or scan a QR code
Every Nom404 business has a QR code on their table, counter, or signage. You have two options:
- With the app: Open Nom404 and tap the scan button. Point your camera at the QR code.
- Without the app: Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code. It will open the menu in your browser — no download needed.
Tip: The app gives you the full experience — order tracking, push notifications, loyalty rewards, and saved favorites. The browser version works great for one-time orders.
2. Browse the menu
Once you scan the QR code, you will see the full menu for that business. Each item shows:
- A photo of the item (if the business has uploaded one)
- The price in Philippine pesos
- Dietary information — small colored tags that tell you if something is vegetarian, contains nuts, dairy, gluten, etc.
- A description of the item
Tap on any item to see more details, including available sizes, add-ons, and customization options.
3. Customize your order
Most items let you customize before adding to your cart:
- Sizes: Choose from available sizes (e.g. Regular, Large). The price updates automatically.
- Add-ons: Extra cheese, extra shot of espresso, a side of rice — whatever the business offers.
- Remove ingredients: Tap to remove items you do not want (like onions or mayo).
- Substitute ingredients: Swap one ingredient for another (like oat milk instead of regular milk). You will see if there is a price difference.
- Special instructions: Type anything else the kitchen should know (e.g. “extra crispy” or “no ice”).
4. Choose pickup or table delivery
When you are ready to check out, choose how you want to receive your order:
- Pickup at counter: You will get a notification when your order is ready. Head to the counter to collect it.
- Table delivery: Enter your table number and the staff will bring your order to you.
5. Pay with GCash, Maya, or cash
Choose your payment method at checkout:
- GCash or Maya: You will be shown the business's payment details. Send the payment through your e-wallet app, then upload a screenshot of the receipt as proof.
- Cash: Select cash and pay at the counter when you pick up your order.
Some businesses ask you to pay upfront before they start preparing. Others let you pay after they confirm your order. The app will tell you which one applies.
6. Leave a tip (optional)
Before you confirm your order, you can choose to leave a tip for the team. Tap one of the preset chips for 10, 15, or 20 percent, or tap custom to type any peso amount you like. You can also skip the tip altogether — it is always optional.
Every peso of your tip goes straight to the business. Nom404 does not take a cut. Your tip is included in your order total and shown on your receipt.
Note: Some businesses turn off tipping. If you do not see tip options at checkout, that business has chosen not to accept tips.
7. Track your order in real time
After placing your order, you can follow its progress:
- Pending — Your order has been sent to the business
- Confirmed — The business has accepted your order
- Preparing — Your food is being made
- Ready — Your order is ready for pickup or on its way to your table
- Completed — You have received your order
If you are using the app, you will receive push notifications at each stage so you do not need to keep checking.
