Co-Owner Setup

3 min read

Running a shop with a partner, a spouse, or a sibling? You can add one or more co-owners to your Nom404 business so everyone has full owner-level access to the dashboard, the iOS companion app, and all settings — without sharing a single login.

When to add a co-owner

Add a co-owner when another person needs the same level of control you have — verifying payments, refunding orders, changing the menu, managing staff, updating subscription, or signing in on their own phone for the iOS app. Co-owners share full permissions.

For team members who only need to take orders or work the kitchen, invite them as Staff instead — see the Staff Management guide. Staff have a much narrower scope by design.

Invite a co-owner by email

  1. Sign in to dashboard.nom404.com.
  2. Go to Settings > Owners.
  3. Tap Invite co-owner and enter their email address.
  4. They will receive an email invite from Nom404 with a redeem link.

The invitation appears as a pending invite on your Owners page until they accept. You can cancel a pending invite at any time before it is redeemed.

How the co-owner accepts

  1. They open the invite email and tap the redeem link.
  2. They click Continue with Google using the same email address you sent the invite to. (The email on the Google account must match — this is how we confirm it is really them.)
  3. They land in the dashboard with full owner access. The business now appears under their account.

Tip: If the invitee already has a personal Google account on a different email, tell them which email to use ahead of time — the invite is locked to the address you typed.

The owner badge

Once accepted, every co-owner shows up on the Owners page with an Owner badge next to their name and the date they joined. The original founder is just one of the owners — there is no “primary” or “super-owner.” Any owner can invite or remove other owners.

Revoke access

If a co-owner leaves the business or you need to remove them:

  1. Go to Settings > Owners.
  2. Find their row and tap Remove owner.
  3. Confirm. They lose access immediately on web and on the iOS app.

You can also revoke a pending invite (one that has not been accepted yet) the same way — useful if you typed the wrong email or changed your mind.

Heads up: A business must always have at least one owner. You cannot remove the last owner — invite a new one first if you are handing the business off completely.
