Staff Management

4 min read

Add your team to Nom404 so they can help manage orders, run the kitchen display, and handle payments — without giving them full access to your business settings.

Inviting staff members

Go to Staff in the dashboard sidebar and tap “Add Staff.” Enter their email address and choose a role. They will receive an email invitation to create their account.

Tip: The number of staff you can add depends on your subscription tier. Free allows 1 staff member, Starter allows 2, Growth allows 5, and Pro is unlimited.

Understanding roles

There are three roles you can assign:

  • Manager: Full access to everything except subscription billing. Can manage menu, staff, settings, and analytics. Use this for trusted senior staff or co-owners.
  • Staff: Can view and manage orders, verify payments, and use the POS. Cannot change the menu, settings, or manage other staff members.
  • Kitchen: Can only see the kitchen display — orders that need to be prepared. Cannot access orders list, payments, reviews, or any settings. Ideal for kitchen-only team members.

Changing roles

You can change a staff member's role anytime from the Staff page. Tap their name, select a new role, and save. The change takes effect immediately — they will see different navigation options on their next page load.

Deactivating or removing staff

If someone is temporarily unavailable, you can deactivate their account. They will not be able to log in but their account is preserved. You can reactivate them later.

To permanently remove a staff member, tap “Remove” on their profile. This cannot be undone — they would need a new invitation to rejoin.

Using the staff tablet app

Staff can also use the dedicated Nom404 Staff App on a tablet. It offers three station modes:

  • Counter mode: POS for walk-in orders + order management
  • Kitchen mode: Real-time kitchen display with audio alerts for new orders
  • Full mode: Everything — POS, orders, and kitchen in one view

Staff log in with the same email they were invited with. Their role determines which features are visible.
