Nom404 vs Maya Business
Both platforms run F&B businesses in the Philippines. They take very different paths to get there. Here's the side-by-side — pricing, hardware, payment rails, contracts — sourced from public materials and our own product. Spot something stale? Tell us.

Where Maya Business is genuinely better
They've been at this longer. There are real things they do better today. If any of these matter to you more than zero commission and zero hardware, Maya Business is the right call.
Direct payment acquiring
Maya Business IS the payment processor. Cards, Maya wallet, QRPh — they own the rails and settle directly to your bank. Nom404 doesn't acquire payments; we integrate with Maya (and others) as the upstream processor. If you want a direct relationship with the acquirer, you go to Maya.
Physical card terminals
Maya rents and sells point-of-sale terminals for tap-and-go cards. If a meaningful share of your revenue is walk-in card customers (corporate cardholders, tourists), the physical terminal matters. Nom404 doesn't ship hardware.
Maya Business Loans
Maya offers cash advances and business loans based on your settlement history. If you need working capital and you're already processing through Maya, this is a real product they can offer. Nom404 doesn't lend.
Settlement consolidation
If every peso of your revenue lands in one Maya merchant account — cards, Maya wallet, QRPh, online checkout — your reconciliation is one statement. Nom404 distributes settlement across whatever rails you choose (GCash to your GCash, Maya to your Maya, cards to your acquirer).
Where Nom404 wins by design
These aren't roadmap items — they're structural choices that competitors can't reverse without rewriting their stack.
Maya is payment; Nom404 is ordering
The honest answer: these are different products. Maya Business is a payment acquirer with a QRPh code for receiving payment. Nom404 is a QR menu + ordering UI that calls Maya (or GCash, or HitPay) to process the payment AFTER the customer has chosen what to order. You can — and many of our customers do — use both.
A real menu UI for your customers
Maya's QR doesn't show your menu. It shows a payment screen. Your customer still needs to know what to order — usually by asking your staff, who then enters it on a POS, then prints a receipt, then hands the customer the Maya QR. Nom404 replaces every step before the payment QR.
Kitchen + staff workflow
Once a customer pays Maya, your kitchen doesn't know what to make. Nom404 routes every line item to the kitchen display, lets staff confirm, prepare, mark ready, and serve — all live. The Maya payment event flows into the order record automatically.
GCash as a first-class payment method
Maya Business doesn't route GCash payments (they're competing wallets). Nom404 supports GCash AS a payment method via direct manual proof OR via HitPay auto-verification — alongside Maya, QRPH, cards, and cash. Customers pick what they have.
Allergen safety, modifications, multi-branch
Maya Business doesn't model your menu, so it doesn't know about modifications, dietary tags, multi-branch pricing, or staff workflows. Nom404 is built around those. We use Maya where Maya is the right tool — taking the payment at the end.

- 1
Keep Maya Business — you don't need to leave
If you're already accepting Maya payments through Maya Business, keep doing it. Nom404 calls Maya as one of several payment rails. Your existing merchant relationship, settlement, and reporting stay exactly the same.
- 2
Sign up for Nom404 (free) for the ordering layer
Pick your business type → add your first menu item → enable Maya, GCash, and cash as accepted payment methods. Nom404 is the customer-facing menu and the kitchen workflow on top of your existing payment setup.
- 3
Print a Nom404 QR for each table
Replace any Maya QR you may have on tables with a Nom404 QR. The customer scans → browses your menu → checks out → pays via Maya (or GCash, or cash). Maya still receives the payment. Nom404 receives the order detail.
- 4
Optional: enable HitPay-routed GCash auto-verify
If you also want auto-verified GCash payments (no screenshot proof step), enable HitPay in your Nom404 dashboard. Maya still handles Maya-wallet payments; HitPay handles GCash. Customers choose at checkout.
